Width
The tire width is measured in millimeters from sidewall to sidewall. In this example, "215" indicates the tire is 215 millimeters wide. A wider tire generally provides better grip and handling.
Aspect Ratio
The aspect ratio is the height of the tire's cross-section as a percentage of its width. Here, "55" means the height is 55% of the tire's width. Lower numbers mean shorter sidewalls, which generally provide better handling.
Rim Diameter
The rim diameter is measured in inches across the wheel from one end to the other. In this case, "17" indicates the tire fits a 17-inch wheel. This measurement is crucial for ensuring proper tire-to-wheel fitment.
